Come and play ...

I enjoy working with pianists of all levels of experience and ages. My approach varies based on student goals and learning style, but I work to incorporate musicianship, literacy and physical approach to the piano at all stages of learning.

Open communication between families and teachers is key to ensuring that piano lessons are a positive and enriching experience for your student: please do not hesitate to reach out if you or your student have any special concerns or requests.

Studio Policy (2025-2026)

Schedule

Lessons are offered in 30, 45, and 60 min. increments at a flat rate of $70/hr. After you sign the studio policy, please indicate your preferred day of the week for lessons. If you have specific timing requests, please indicate that as well.

Your lesson time is reserved for you with the intent that you will use that time regularly. Requests to reschedule will always be considered, but I will not always be able to make up lessons which are canceled on the student side. You will still be responsible for the cost of missed lessons.

Consistency of lessons are a very important factor in your piano students’ growth, so every effort should be made to meet weekly. Remote lessons are available in the case of illness or scheduling challenges, or for those who prefer to meet online.

Materials

Parents/guardians are responsible for ordering required materials (primary and supplemental).

Occasionally, I will supplement with loans or photocopies. Please plan to purchase recommended materials in a timely fashion, and if you are loaned a copy of a book, return it in the condition in which it was received.

Payments

Payments should be sent electronically on the first of the month, for all the lessons in that month. Payments sent after the 5th day need to include a $25 administrative fee. I do not send invoices, as I prefer to keep costs lower by avoiding administrative time.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Cancellations

In the event of an occasional, planned absence such as a vacation need to be communicated a month in advance. In the event of a cold or mild illness, lessons can still occur via Zoom during the student’s regular lesson time. Please text or email if this is the case, so I can minimize disruption to the lesson time and have a Zoom meeting up promptly.

In the event that I have to cancel a lesson, I will either refund payment or credit toward the next month, whichever the student prefers.

Recitals

Participation in recitals is strongly encouraged but is not mandatory. There is no additional fee for recitals.
