New Recording

Hello,

I'm writing today to share that composer Alissa Voth released this recording of her piece, Solastalgia, written for Composing the Climate (2025) and performed by me (Cacie Miller) and Missing Piece (Dan Galat, violin and Kelly Quesada, cello). Solastalgia uses a pretty special piano preparation too, with putty wrapped around piano strings in the middle-range. Alissa's gently melancholic approach to climate change and its intersection with loss and memory avoids sounding immediately apocalyptic, though the piece certainly has some moments that sound menacing.
